To give message as Executive Director of CPE institute of Cardiology Multan is very heartening for me. Our Institute providing the best and modern services to the needy and sick cardiac patient of this region. I would like to share some of our achievements that we have met.
Many projects which were previously not completed are now functional like a new state of art largest extended cardiac emergency department of the Punjab has been started from February 2015 and renovation of old emergency unit and providing best facilities to the cardiac patient that are comparative to international standards.
I am also thankful to Allah Almighty that he has made us able to complete our projects in a short duration of time and 24 bedded Usman Block (HDU) is now functional. Also the expansion of CPEIC Multan, named PC-I has been started and we will try to complete it as early as possible. We have started a skill lab to conduct BLS training to the doctors and nurses. A day care center has been established in hospital premises with the capacity of 20 babies. It is also worth mentioning that we have achieve these goals that were ones thought to be difficult. This institute has recently be recognized for post graduation like Dip-card, Fellowship in General and Cardiac Anaesthesia. This hospital has been accredited by PMDC for CME activities.
I hope one will understand that all these targets were very difficult to achieve. We are successful with the hard work of my very energetic team and with the help of Almighty Allah. Its worth mentioning that the financial support provided by Friends of Cardiology (FoC) and the guidance of Health Department, Govt. of the Punjab is always very encouraging.
We are determined to make CPE Institute of Cardiology as one of the best cardiac care Institute of the world. In addition to the best patient care, I have the vision to make this institute as the best training institute for junior doctors and also the continuous medical education for the GPs of the region.
Our aim is to develop this institute, a research and academic center of international standards linked with university of Health Sciences, College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan and Higher Education Commission, which can provide the best Cardiac care facilities.
To conclude, I wish to highlight our future targets; to complete PICU (Paeds Intensive Care Unit) in near future to provide best facilities for padiatric patients, to replace all beds of the hospital to the imported electronic beds from donations, publishing journal of CPE Institute of Cardiology Multan “Multan Journal of Cardiovascular disease (MJCVD)”, Cardiac Transplant Program, Primary PCI Program for heart attack patients and combined training programs with the University of Virginia, USA. Moreover we desire to evolve a robust Hospital Automation & Clinical Management System, reducing the conventional use of paper based environment.
May Allah give us more spirit to fulfill all of our goals and make us able to serve more and more.
Future Vision for the Cardiac Transplant
Under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Haider Zaman, the department is progressing by leaps and bounds. People from all over the Punjab are coming for their surgeries owing to the good results. The future of cardiac surgery is the ventricular assist devices and the heart transplant; both of these are yet to be started in Pakistan. Professor Haider on the basis of his experience of UK in this field has taken the task for the betterment of the suffering humanity. The Cardiac Transplant team of CPEIC is working diligently to bring this dream come true.
